Two Headed Hokie Monster

Well here I am talkin about the #7 ranked Virginia Tech Hokies 3 WEEKSbefore the season kicks off in at the Georgia Dome in A-Town.  But I must start this post off with some pretty bad news. Darren Evans will likely miss the entire season due to a horrifying ACLtear in his left leg but on a happy note Billy Hite who is the Associate Head Coach and the Running Back coach for the Hokies said “This group of Running Backs is a special bunch. Evan though we have lost Darren we should be fine with the young guns like Ryan [Williams] and David [Wilson]” And you know what… I agree 100% with what Billy is sayin because of every bloggers favorite resource the stats!! And here they are we’ll start with Freshman Redshirt Ryan Williams:  Turned in the top vertical jump (36 1/2) and 40 time (4.49) among the running backs … Ran 80 yards for a touchdown on his first carry of Tech’s first formal scrimmage … Gained 122 yards on eight carries during that workout … Took a screen pass 56 yards for a TD during the Maroon-White game … Finished with 10 carries for 85 yards and two pass receptions for 66 yards … Was one of two winners of the Torgersen Award for the top newcomers of the spring . Pretty Impressive if you asked me. This 5-10, 206IB HB will surely get a lot of action behind Tyrod “U cant C me” Taylor. Now for the second part of this ferocious TWO-HEADED MONSTERDavid Wilson. Here’s a little bit of info from my homies at TSL: The top-rated prospect in Virginia by The Roanoke Times … Listed the No. 40 overall prospect in the nation, the No. 4 running back in the country and the top player in the state by Rivals … Listed as the No. 48 overall player in the country by PrepStar … Ranked the No. 50 overall prospect nationally and the No. 5 running back by SuperPrep … Rated the No. 5 running back nationally, and the No. 50 overall prospect in the country by ESPN.com’s recruiting service … Ranked the No. 22 tailback prospect in the nation by Scout.com … Ranked the No. 3 player in the state of Virginia by SuperPrep … A member of the PrepStar Top 100 Dream Team … A SuperPrep and PrepStar All-American … A member of the SuperPrepElite 50 Team … An ESPNU Top150 player … A member of the Rivals100 Team … Named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Virginia … One of 50 national winners of the Old Spice Red Zone Player of the Year honors … A member of SuperPrep’s Mid-Atlantic Team … Named to PrepStar’sAll-Atlantic Region Team as a running back … Rushed for 2,291 yards and 35 touchdowns – both school records – his senior season … Rushed for more than 300 yards in a game twice. This Freshman sensation also played in the US vs World Football game and heres a little info of how he did in that:He added two touchdowns on returns and one touchdown via reception and rushed for 47 yards on 13 carries and caught two passes for 50 more, scoring two touchdowns in the Hawaii/Polynesia Mainland Bowl in December, earning MVP honors. Wilson also placed first at the Nike Indoor Nationals for the triple jump. I have a little video I think you should all check out of The Diaper Dandy!!! Wilson will likely be return punts as well as receiving hand offs. With the addition of the W&W Express I really would’nt be surprised to see some more Wild Turkey thrown in to the playbook. I am gonna give you a little prediction of how the Bama game is gonna go… Tech will win but it ain’t gonna be no UVA TYPE A WIN. Its gonna be a lot closer than a 35-0 blowout. I’m thinkin 34- 21 with a TD pass from Tyrod and 2 TD’s from the DEFENSE and maybe  a Punt Return from the D-Train. All and All expectations will be high all season long. But I don’t see an ECU type let like last season but I will say this ” Tech ain’t no Florida Gators “

  2. We are with your Grandpa and Grandma in Key West having a good time.
It looks like our Yankees will be starting all over next year.
I liked your plan for the pitching staff. I hope they sign Giambi again. I use to watch him play for the Modesto A’s when he was just starting out. They use to play the “jaws theme” when he got up to bat.
keep up the good work on the Blog!
