The Breakdown

During this weekday series against the Cincinnati Reds, the Mets lost 2 out of 3.  What I would like to point out is that all three games were one run games.  In fact two of these games went into extras.  Both of these extra inning games were won by Cinci.  The first game, Laynce Nix hit a solo homerun off of Manny Acosta in the eleventh.  In the third and final game, the shortstop, Orlando cabrera, blasted one off of Perpetual Pedro Feliciano.   Cabrera has not hit more then 9 homeruns in a season since 2005.  Pedro Feliciano has only allowed two earned runs this year so far.

Jason Bay snapped an eight-game hitting streak by going 0-5, 0-3, and 0-4.  Also The Mets slugger is batting only .238 with 9 RBIs.  What an offensive boost he turned out to be.  NOT

Hot Rod Barajas leads the Mets team with 7 homeruns so far this season.
